Head Height and Staircase Access For a Loft Conversion
Generally speaking, if you have at least 230 centimeters from the floor to the roof at its peak, you have ample head height for a loft conversion. To ensure that your new living space is comfortable to move around in, at least half of your loft space should be this tall.
Per building regulations in the UK, if you plan to turn your loft into a bedroom, bathroom, home office or playroom, you must have a permanent staircase in place.
